The Nature of Our Product

Garlic is a produce — a living agricultural product, not a manufactured good. It's normal for garlic to change slightly in appearance over time, and proper storage after delivery is the customer's responsibility. See our Garlic Storage Guide for tips on keeping your garlic in good condition until you're ready to use or plant it.

Natural variation in bulb size, color, and clove count is part of buying real hand-grown garlic and is not considered a defect.

Garlic Storage Guide

The following is information only, and actual results depend on your climate, handling, and storage conditions, all of which are outside Kefi Farms' control.

Storage Conditions

●        Store cured garlic in a cool, dry, dark place with good airflow.

●        A mesh bag, paper bag, or open basket works well.

●        Avoid sealed plastic — garlic needs to breathe, and trapped moisture can lead to mold.

●        Handle bulbs gently; bruising during storage can shorten shelf life.

Typical Storage Life (Under Good Conditions)

Type

Storage Life

Hard neck varieties

 4–7 months

Soft neck varieties

Up to 9 months

If You're Not Planting Right Away | Seed Garlic

●        Keep seed garlic in a cool, dry, dark spot until your planting window arrives.

●        Garlic generally needs a period of cold exposure (often called vernalization) to grow well after planting.

●        In mild-winter regions, some growers refrigerate seed garlic for several weeks before planting to help provide that cold period — check general growing guidance for your climate.

If You're Storing for the Kitchen | Culinary Garlic

●        Counter or pantry storage in a cool, dark spot is typically fine for garlic you'll use within a few weeks to a couple of months.

●        Refrigerating culinary garlic can extend freshness, but garlic taken from the fridge and left at room temperature may sprout sooner — take out only what you plan to use soon.

●        Check bulbs periodically; soft spots or visible mold are signs a bulb should be used or discarded promptly.

Cancelling Before Shipment

Need to cancel? Let us know before your order ships, and we'll refund you in full, less a 15% processing fee to cover administrative costs already incurred.

Reporting a Problem

If something is missing, arrives damaged, or otherwise not as described:

1.       Email info@kefifarms.com within 3 business days of delivery.

2.       Include your order number, a photo of the packing slip, and photos of the product in question.

3.       We'll review and respond with a resolution — typically a refund or reshipment of the affected items.

Refunds and credits cover the cost of the product only; original shipping charges are non-refundable.

Seasonal Refund Cutoff

Because garlic naturally dehydrates and loses quality several months after harvest, we're able to offer refunds for seed garlic after November 1. Once the garlic leaves our farm, we can no longer verify how the product was stored, so refunds are not available. Please plan to plant or use your order promptly or follow our Garlic Storage Guide to help extend its shelf life.

Shipping Issues

If tracking shows a problem in transit (delay, lost package, etc.), please contact the carrier directly first, then reach out to us at info@kefifarms.com if you need further help. If a package is lost or returned due to an incorrect address provided at checkout, a reshipping fee will apply.

Jurisdictional Restrictions

Kefi Farms takes reasonable precautions to identify known agricultural shipping restrictions, but you are responsible for confirming that the products you order are permitted in your state or local jurisdiction. We're not able to issue refunds for orders seized, delayed, or destroyed due to agricultural import restrictions.

Our Quality Promise

Every bulb is grown, cured, and inspected by our team before it ships. We stand behind the quality of what leaves our farm — but once your garlic is planted or in your kitchen, we can't guarantee results, since growing conditions, storage, and handling are outside our control.
